Schools in Kyrgyzstan are transitioning to Solar Energy

A project to install solar power plants in public educational institutions is being launched in the Chui and Osh regions, as well as in the cities of Bishkek and Osh.

As part of the initiative, solar power systems will be designed, supplied, installed, and commissioned in 8 schools across the country. The total installed capacity of the systems will amount to 195 kW, while the capacity of individual stations will range from 20 to 40 kW.

The project is being implemented by Green Horizon LLC in partnership with UNISON Group.

The implementation of the project will help to:

• increase the energy resilience of schools
• reduce electricity consumption
• lower CO₂ emissions
• promote the use of renewable energy sources
• develop sustainable energy consumption practices among young people
